Where is the Bicycle Code Meter Magnet Installed?

Time:2024-11-18 Views:155
The installation of the code meter magnet is a common topic among cycling enthusiasts. Here’s a simplified guide to its installation location, materials, and shape.
Installation Location

The code meter magnet is typically used on mountain bikes and electric motorcycles. It is installed on the front wheel spoke, positioned to face the sensor. To secure it:
Place the magnet on the spoke.
Use the included iron ferrule to fix it in the magnet’s groove.
Adjust the angle so the magnet aligns with the sensor as the spoke passes by, ensuring optimal performance.
Does Magnet Position Affect Accuracy?
Whether the magnet is placed on the inner ring (near the axle) or outer ring (closer to the tire), it does not affect the code meter’s accuracy. The code meter calculates speed based on the tire’s outer diameter circumference. The magnet only needs to be within 1-3mm of the sensor for proper functionality.
What Magnet is Used?
The induction magnet is usually a strong neodymium (NdFeB) disc magnet, known for its durability and magnetic strength. It is an essential accessory for accurate code meter performance.
